Written Responses

Teacher-graded written prompts to assess reading comprehension📝

Written responses are optional prompts that appear at the end of reading quizzes, giving students a chance to demonstrate deeper comprehension, analytical thinking, and writing skills through short, open-ended answers.

How Written Responses Work

When enabled, students are prompted to write a brief explanation after each assigned quiz. These responses should demonstrate understanding of the passage, include relevant textual evidence, and be clear, organized, and grammatically correct. Scoring is typically based on relevance, clarity, textual support, and grammar.

To manage this feature, go to the Written Responses tab in your teacher account, select a class from the dropdown, and toggle the feature on or off. Once enabled, students will see a response prompt after each quiz, and their submissions will appear on the same page for your review and grading.

📌 Note: Co-teachers cannot enable or disable this feature.
