What Is Read Aloud?

Read Aloud is a built-in text-to-speech feature designed to make reading more accessible and inclusive for all learners. With this tool, students don’t just see the text—they can hear it too, helping them strengthen fluency, comprehension, and confidence.

Teachers asked for this feature because they knew it would make a big difference for:

  • English learners building vocabulary and fluency in a new language.

  • Students in special education settings who benefit from auditory support.

  • Any student who learns best when they can both see and hear the words on the page.

By making Read Aloud free for everyone, ReadTheory is reinforcing that accessibility isn’t optional—it’s essential.
