Moving a Student to Another Class

How to Move a Student Between Classes, Yours or Another Teacher's 📚

Need to move a student to a different class? The steps depend on whether you're moving them to another class you teach, or to a class taught by a different teacher.

Moving a Student to One of Your Own Classes

If the class you're moving the student to also belongs to you:

  1. Navigate to the My Classes page.
  2. Locate the student you'd like to move and select the three dots next to their name.
  3. Select Remove from this class.
  4. Select the checkbox next to the class you want to move them to.
  5. Remove the checkbox next to the class you want to move them out of.

The student will be removed from the previous class and added to the new class you selected.

Moving a Student to a Different Teacher's Class

If the student is moving to a class taught by a different teacher:

  1. Remove the student from your class. See Removing Students and/or Classes for instructions.
  2. Once the student is removed, they can join the new teacher's class using a class code. See How to Connect to a Teacher through Class Code for instructions.
