How Students Log In
Unlock Student Access
Students can access their ReadTheory accounts using one of two login methods, depending on how their account was created by their teacher or school.
Option 1: Unique Username and Password
Many students log in using a unique ReadTheory username and password. These were created by a teacher.
To sign in:
- Go to www.readtheory.org.
- Select Log In.
- Enter your ReadTheory username.
- Enter your password.
- Select Log In.
If a student forgets their username or password, their teacher can provide login credentials or reset the password from their teacher account.
Option 2: Single Sign-On (SSO)
Schools that use Single Sign-On (SSO) can allow students to access ReadTheory using their existing school credentials. This eliminates the need to remember a separate ReadTheory username and password.
ReadTheory supports the following SSO providers:
- Microsoft
- Clever
- ClassLink
To sign in with SSO:
- Go to www.readtheory.org.
- Select the appropriate login option:
- Continue with Google
- Continue with Microsoft
- Continue with Clever
- Continue with ClassLink
- Sign in using your school account credentials.
- If prompted, approve access and continue to ReadTheory.
Once connected, students can use the same SSO option each time they access ReadTheory.
⚠️ Important: Always use the same login method that was originally used to create or access your ReadTheory account.
For example, if your account was created using Google Sign-In, continue signing in with Google. If your teacher provided a unique ReadTheory username and password, continue using those credentials.
Using a different login method may create a separate account or prevent you from accessing your existing progress and assignments.
