Why We Use Ads & How to Maximize Screen Visibility 💡

📑 Table of Contents

Why We Have Advertisements

At ReadTheory, we’re a small but passionate team of educators and developers committed to providing high-quality reading practice for students around the world.

To keep the platform free and accessible for millions of learners, we rely on three primary sources of revenue:

📚 Workbook purchases

🌟 Premium subscriptions

📢 Advertisements

We’ve always included ads as a way to support the platform’s free version. We work hard to ensure all ads are:

✅ Age-appropriate

✅ Non-intrusive

✅ Carefully placed for minimal distraction

Your support, whether through purchasing a workbook or upgrading to Premium, helps us keep ReadTheory alive and accessible for students everywhere.

Increase Your Student’s Screen Visibility

While using the free version, students may find that ads slightly limit the visible area of the screen. To improve their experience, try the following tips:

✅ Use Focus Mode

We’ve added a “Focus Mode” button on the quiz screen that expands the content area by hiding non-essential elements. Encourage students to enable this while taking quizzes.

enter focus mode

🔍 Adjust Zoom Settings

Students can zoom out slightly to reveal more content on screen:

On most devices, press Ctrl + - (Windows/Chromebook) or Command + - (Mac) to reduce zoom level and expand the visible area.

Want to Remove Ads Completely?

The Premium version of ReadTheory removes all ads from the student experience—no distractions, just reading.

Plus, Premium includes powerful teacher tools like:

  • Class competitions

  • Specific passage assignments

  • Data exports

  • Curriculum alignment reports
